Brief The design of venue dressing and printed collateral—invites, programme, certificate holder, info card—for the first graduation ceremony the College has hosted independently.
Client: Leeds College of Art
Details: The College were keen for a prestigious and traditional feel to the ceremony, but one which also helped differentiate them as an independent authority of art and design education. Visually the design was kept very simple and in-line with the college brand. A lot of attention was paid to print finish, and a scarlet stock was used in a heavy weight with a gloss white foil for the type. One of the key problem solving areas of the brief was to devise a way for the students name to be visible on the front of the certificate holder, to save time when giving them out on stage. After exploring several options of a diecut hole through to the certificate, none of which were aesthetically pleasing, we decided on a digitally printed insert giving the whole thing a slightly more modern feel.
